Release: Our first sustainable boardshorts for men – developed together with Surf Companions

We’re beyond excited to finally present our very first AFATO boardshorts for men – co-created with Surf Companions .

This project means a lot to us. Over the past year, we’ve worked closely together to create something that’s not just stylish, but also functional, durable, and sustainable.

What makes these boardshorts special
Designed for everyone who wants to move freely in the water – no slipping, no compromises.
Crafted from recycled B-stretch fabric with UV protection, they’re lightweight, quick-drying, and offer maximum freedom of movement. The stay-put waistband ensures a secure fit – during waves, duck dives, and everything in between.
As always, the design stays true to AFATO: minimal, timeless, and built to perform.

Co-created with Surf Companions
Together with Surf Companions – known for their surf books, coachings, and camps – we’ve created a pair of boardshorts that deliver exactly what’s needed in the water: freedom of movement and functional design. Their hands-on experience, combined with our focus on aesthetics and fit, resulted in a boardshort that not only looks good – but performs when it counts.

Limited edition – Designed with Purpose
The first drop is limited. Because sustainability also means: not producing too much, but only what’s truly needed.
We want to see how you respond to these shorts before moving into larger production. It saves resources and keeps us aligned with your real demand.

One Year in the Making
From first sketch to final fit, these boardshorts took over a year to develop. Why so long?
Because every detail was considered – from the materials and cut to the stitching line. Our goal was clear:
